PVC / vinyl needs no painting or staining. The routine is simple: keep it clean and give moving gate hardware occasional attention.
Annual cleaning
An annual application of a spray-and-leave exterior cleaner such as Wet & Forget can help remove organic staining gradually over time. Follow the product directions and protect nearby landscaping from direct overspray.
Gate hardware
A quick shot of lubricant at the moving hinge points takes seconds and helps keep gate hardware quiet and operating freely. Self-closing gates should also be checked periodically to confirm they continue to close and latch properly.
No refinishing cycle
Unlike natural wood, PVC / vinyl does not require a recurring stain or paint schedule. That is often the deciding factor for homeowners who want a finished fence with less upkeep.
